Wind power
What is a wind power plant?
A wind power plant or wind energy plant converts the energy of the wind into electrical energy, and afterwords feeds this energy it into the power grid.Today, wind turbines are by far the most important form of using wind energy.
Those wind turbines can be installed and used in all climate zones on earth. They could be build on land and also offshore near the coast.A wind power plant or wind energy plant converts the energy of the wind into electrical energy, and afterword’s feeds this energy it into the power grid.

Big benefit: small area
The required area for wind power plants is very low. The area sealing is also very low in comparison with other regenerative energy methods as well as with fossil generation methods.
Most wind turbines installed today are located on agricultural land that can be used almost without restriction. Approx. 99% of the area occupied by a wind farm is still available for agriculture.
Energy amortization time
The energetic amortization time describes the time that elapses before a power plant has generated as much energy as was needed for its production, transport, construction, operation, etc.
The energetic amortization time for wind turbines is around 3 to 7 months and according to conservative estimates under 1 year.
Lifetime of windmills
Most wind turbines are traditionally designed for a lifespan of 20 years.
In view of the experience with existing systems, however a lifespan of 30 years is estimated to be more realistic.
So, every installed windmill surpasses through his lifespan the own energy amortization by factor 20.
Our investments
Exit CO2 invests in wind power projects that have a minimum projected operating life of about 20 years. We believe because of the energy amortization time a windmill needs, that wind power is by far the environmentally friendliest technology.
